We wanted to let you know that the cost of the cPanel® License on your hosting package is increasing to $0.49/month ($5.88/year).
As you may have seen in cPanel’s pricing updates, they’ve continued to raise licensing costs since mid-2019. To date, we’ve done our best to absorb these increases and keep your rate at $0.39/month, paying the difference ourselves to avoid passing it on. Unfortunately, with the latest change, we’ll need to adjust this to $0.49/month in the coming weeks.
While these price changes are never ideal, we hope you’ve seen the ongoing improvements that come with your cPanel® account — including the WordPress Toolkit, DIY Site Builder, and other enhancements that make website management easier than ever.
Despite rising costs across the industry, we’ve worked hard to keep our $1/month hosting alive — something we’re still proud to maintain in today’s environment. Unlike the bait-and-switch price hikes you may have seen elsewhere, we’ve never suddenly doubled or tripled our rates. This small adjustment is purely a pass-through cost from cPanel®, not a change in how we price our hosting. It reflects our ongoing commitment to fairness, transparency, and the trust you’ve placed in HoboHost.
Some invoices were generated before this change, and we’ll continue to honor those at the previous rate. To be clear, we’re not generating invoices early or asking anyone to renew ahead of time to "lock in" the old price — all invoices will be created on their normal schedule. Our goal with this message is simply to communicate the change as early and transparently as possible, rather than updating pricing without notice. This increase comes directly from cPanel®, and we genuinely rely on these small amounts to cover the license cost fairly.
Thank you for being a part of the HoboHost community, and we wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season ahead!
Warm regards,
The HoboHost Team
